Villarreal CF will play the first phase of the prestigious inclusive tournament in Tarragona (22nd, 23rd and 24th November)
LALIGA Genuine will kick off a new edition of the most inclusive tournament in Spain in Tarragona this weekend (22nd, 23rd and 24th November). Villarreal CF ‘s EDI team (team with intellectual disabilities) will travel to Catalonia to play the first three matches of the season against SD Huesca, Fundación Málaga CF and Real Sporting de Gijón.
After the arrival of the 47 participating teams, the first phase will begin with the opening ceremony at the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada, home of Gimnàstic de Tarragona, and an institutional reception in a sports centre next to the pitch. The matches will kick off on Saturday and continue on Sunday morning at the Futbol Salou Sports Center. At midday, medals will be awarded to all participants and the first phase of the 2024/25 season will come to an end.
The calendar of matches for the Groguets in Tarragona will be as follows:
- Villarreal CF vs SD Huesca: Saturday, 11am CET.
- Fundación Málaga CF vs Villarreal CF: Saturday, 4:30pm CET.
- Real Sporting de Gijón vs Villarreal CF: Sunday, 11am CET.
The squad will be made up of the following players: Adrián Centelles, Daniel Ortiz, Javier Ruiz, Eric Villegas, José Manuel Vicent, Marc Martos, Khalid Afia, Joan Goterris, Miguel Ángel Archela, Eduardo Hernández, Francisco Pinel, Juan Ramón Lara, David Velasco, Óscar Conesa, Jordi Fuentes and Juan Matías Vilafranca.
The coaches are: Marta Cádiz, Rafael Julián, Antonio Jiménez and Sonia Alcón.
